Sponsorship Stories

The Kiserem Epilepsy Foundation partners with Metha ya kagoni to sponsor the education of more than 40 underprivileged children of the mwihoko area.

 

Many of these children are high achievers but their families Do not have the funds to pay their school fees.  

​

WE match donors with children in need, putting their donations towards school fees,boarding supplies, and any other necessities that facilitate their education.

Jomo Kenyatta Boys School

Jeremiah is the 7th born of a humble family with 8 children. His parents do not have a stable income, and must do small manual labour tasks to financially support their large family. Jeremiah suffers from a medical condition, vitiligo, which requires expensive medicine. Jeremiah dreams of becoming a politican in the future.

Mwihoko Secondary School

Sandra lives with her single mother, and two younger brothers, one of whom suffers from epilepsy. Her mother works on the street, washing clothes and selling food, but all of the money she makes goes to food a d medecine for her epileptic son. Sandra hopes to one day be a doctor so she can help those in need, like her younger brother.

Jamuhuri High School

After scoring 360 marks on his KCPE exams, Wilson was admitted to Jamuhuri High School, but could not pay the fees to attend. His mother, who is jobless, received a cheque from the county government, but the school refused to take it, claiming it was fake. Wilson was unable to attend school for one mother before we found him a sponsor.

Mang'u High School

Asher is an impressive student who scored 421 marks on his KCPE, making him the number one student in the Ruiru constituency. his mother suffered financial hardships,which prevented him from attending Mang'u High School, despite being admitted. We were able to find him a sponsor, and now hie is a high achieving student with an A average. He hopes to one day become a pilot.

Kahawa Garrison School

Judith is very dedicated to her studies, and scored highly in her KCPE exam. She lives with a single mother and three siblings, making their financial situation a constant struggle. Judith was not able to attend school for one month due to lack of fees. Now, she is thriving at Kahawa Garrison School, and aspires to become a police pilot.

Mang'u High School

George is a top student who received 414 marks on his KCPE exams. He comes from a very poor background, and his mother is unable to financially support his education. We were able to find him a sponsor, and he is now attending one of Kenya's top high schools. He dreams of becoming an aeronautical engineer in the future.
